The Queen’s Debating Union holds weekly rounds covering a wide range of topics – from politics and economics to social issues, sports, and even cases about SpongeBob and true crime. If you can think of it, we’ve probably debated it. We meet twice a week, on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and tournaments hosted by other universities take place weekly. As you grow more comfortable with debate, you’ll have the chance to compete in tournaments with debaters from universities across Canada and the world!
Join us at any of our weekly meetings on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 pm in Jeffery Hall Room 127 starting mid September. We will also have a Novice Training Day where anyone can come and learn how to debate from the very basics! No experience required and no pressure to commit – just come out and meet some debaters and try out the activity! This will be held on the first floor of Kingston Hall. More information on Novice Training Day will be posted on our Instagram @queensdebatingunion closer to the actual date.
